In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or orders piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
