The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The hour drew nigh and the moon did rend asunder. 1 And when they see a sign, they turn away and say, “Just a customary magic!” 2 They also gave the lie to (the splitting asunder of the moon) and only followed their desires. Yet everything is destined to reach an end. 3 there has come to them many a tiding wherein there are warnings, 4 profound in wisdom, but all warnings have been of no avail: 5 Wherefore withdrew thou from them. The Day whereon the summoner will summon mankind unto a thing unpleasant. 6 They will come out from the graves with eyes lowered, as if they were spread locusts. 7 running in confusion towards the Summoning Voice; [and] those who [now] deny the truth will exclaim, "Calamitous is this Day!" 8 ۞ The people of Nuh (Noah) denied (their Messenger) before them, they rejected Our slave, and said: "A madman!" and he was insolently rebuked and threatened. 9 so he cried out to his Lord, saying, "I am overcome, so help me!" 10 And We opened up the flood gates of the sky with water pouring down in torrents, 11 And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed. 12 And We bore him on that which was made of planks and nails 13 floated on under Our eyes: a vindication of him who had been rejected. 14 And verily We left it as a token; but is there any that remembereth? 15 So how dreadful have been My torment and My warning! 16 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished? 17 'Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 18 We sent a tumultuous wind against them on a day of unremitting misfortune, 19 Plucking out men as if they were roots of palm-trees torn up (from the ground). 20 Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 21 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 22

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
