Are ye harder to create or the heaven which He hath builded? 27 He raised its roof and made it proper. 28 and darkened its night and brought forth its morning. 29 And after that He spread the earth. 30 and then brought from it its water and pastures. 31 and making the mountains firm: 32 As convenience for you and your cattle. 33 On the day when the great calamity comes, 34 The Day whereon man shall remember whatsoever he had striven for. 35 and when Hell is advanced for whoever sees, 36 then as for whosoever was insolent 37 and prefers the life of this world, 38 hell will be their dwelling. 39 But as for him who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his soul from lust, 40 indeed, their refuge shall be Paradise. 41 They ask thee about the Hour,-'When will be its appointed time? 42 What do you have to do with explaining it? 43 To your Lord is its finality. 44 You (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) are only a warner for those who fear it, 45 On the Day whereon they behold it, it will appear to them as though they had not tarried save an evening or the morn thereof. 46

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
