Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
