Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
