The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad SAW), their faults with gracious forgiveness. [This was before the ordainment of Jihad holy fighting in Allah's Cause]. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 So, by your Lord (O Muhammad SAW), We shall certainly call all of them to account. 92 As to what they did. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration. 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
