What, are you harder to create than the heaven which He has built? 27 He lifted up its vault, and levelled it, 28 Gave darkness to its night, and brightness to its day; 29 And after that He spread the earth. 30 And from it produced its water and its pasture. 31 And solidified the mountains. 32 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 33 Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event),- 34 The day when man will call to mind his (whole) endeavour, 35 and Hell is advanced for whoever sees, 36 Then as for him who is inordinate, 37 and preferred the present life, 38 that blazing fire will truly be the goal! 39 But as for him who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his soul from lust, 40 paradise will truly be the goal! 41 They ask thee of the Hour: when will it come to port? 42 But how are you to know? 43 Towards your Lord only is its conclusion. 44 You are but a Herald of Warning, for one who fears it. 45 On the Day they see it, they will feel as though they had stayed (in the grave) no more than one evening or one morning. 46
