۞ He it is Who did create you from a single soul, and therefrom did make his mate that he might take rest in her. And when he covered her she bore a light burden, and she passed (unnoticed) with it, but when it became heavy they cried unto Allah, their Lord, saying: If thou givest unto us aright we shall be of the thankful. 189 yet when He grants them a healthy child, they begin to ascribe to others a share in the gift they have received. But God is far above what they associate with Him! 190 What, do they associate that which creates nothing and themselves are created, 191 And cannot provide any help to them, nor do they help themselves? 192 And if you [believers] invite them to guidance, they will not follow you. It is all the same for you whether you invite them or you are silent. 193 Those on whom you call apart from God, are servants the likes of you; call them and let them answer you, if you speak truly. 194 Have they feet to walk with? Have they hands to hold with? Have they eyes to see with? Have they ears to hear with? Say, "Call upon those you associate with God as partners, then all of you contrive against me and give me no respite. 195 Surely my guardian is Allah, Who revealed the Book, and He befriends the good. 196 And those whom you invoke other than Allah, they can neither help themselves nor you. 197 If you call them to guidance, they will not hear you. You see them looking towards you, but they cannot see. 198 Take to forgiveness and enjoin good and turn aside from the ignorant. 199 And if it happens that a prompting from Satan should stir you up, seek refuge with Allah. He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 200 If the God-fearing are instigated by any suggestion of Satan, they instantly become alert, whereafter they clearly perceive the right way. 201 Even though their (devilish) brothers would like them to continue in error, and would not desist. 202 And when thou bringest not a verse for them they say: Why hast thou not chosen it? Say: I follow only that which is inspired in me from my Lord. This (Qur'an) is insight from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people that believe. 203 So when the Qur'an is recited, listen thereto and keep silence, haply ye may be shewn mercy. 204 And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless. 205 Indeed those who are with your Lord are not conceited towards worshipping Him, and they proclaim His Purity and it is to Him they prostrate.
