The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
