Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 Honorable recorders, 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
