The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
