The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He has created man: 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
