The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
