The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the mount. 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 And the House frequented, 4 And [by] the heaven raised high 5 and by the swelling ocean, 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 [It will come to pass] on the Day when the skies will be convulsed in [a great] convulsion, 9 And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, 10 Woe, then, will be on that Day to the beliers 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 (And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny. 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 [But,] verily, the God-conscious will find themselves [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. 21 And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. 22 They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. 23 ۞ Youths as fair as hidden pearls will be set apart to wait upon them; they will be running to and fro to serve them. 24 They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful. 28
