Moses said, "Lord, grant me courage. 25 "And ease my task for me; 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 that they may understand my words. 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 Harun, my brother. 30 to support me. 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 When We told your mother what We relate: 38 saying: "Put him in the box and cast it into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank, and he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his." I lavished My Love on you, and to be formed in My Sight. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 for, behold, it has been revealed to us that [in the life to come] suffering shall befall all who give the lie to the truth and turn away [from it]!"' 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said, "Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and then guided [it]." 50 (The Pharaoh) said: "And what about the former generations?" 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a book, my Lord errs not, nor does He forget; 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle, (therein); verily, in this are proofs and signs for men of understanding. 54
