Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 Moses replied, "My Lord, I fear they will reject me, 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 Moses replied, "I did that when I was one of the misguided, 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 But the favour you oblige me with is that you have enslaved the children of Israel." 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 [Moses] answered: "[He is] the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them: if you would but [allow yourselves to] be convinced!" 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 Said [Pharaoh]: "Indeed, if thou choose to worship any deity other than me, I shall most certainly throw thee into prison! 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. 33
