Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
