The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Mount, 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 on fine parchment; 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 And the roof exalted, 5 and the sea that is full 6 Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls 7 there is none who could avert it. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 And the mountains will move with a visible movement. 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 Those who are playing in pursuits. 12 The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing. 13 'This is the fire that you cried lies to! 14 Is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Roast in it, bear it with or without patience, it is the same, you are only being recompensed for that which you used to do' 16 Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 (They will be told): “Eat and drink to your hearts' content as a reward for your deeds.” 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 And those who believed, and their seed followed them in belief, We shall join their seed with them, and We shall not defraud them of aught of their work; every man shall be pledged for what he earned. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 and in that [paradise] they shall pass on to one another a cup which will not give rise to empty talk, and neither incite to sin. 23 ۞ And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 They will say: “When we were living before among our kinsfolk we lived in constant fear (of Allah's displeasure). 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 Formerly we had always prayed to Him. Surely He is Most Benign, Most Compassionate.” 28
