The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Rise up and warn! 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 and defilement flee! 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 And children to be by his side! 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! 17 For he thought and he plotted -- 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 Then turned he back, and grew stiff-necked. 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It does not allow anyone to live, and neither does it leave anyone to die; 28 Blackening the skins. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
