Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
