Nay, and by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 a warning to mortal man 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 who will be in Paradise 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
