(Hell will never spare the disbelievers). 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 it is a warning to man, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
