NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except those on the right side. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
