۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
