The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)], 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 but when they have to measure or weigh whatever they owe to others, give less than what is due! 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 By no means! Aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
