Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
