The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 who has created and shaped, 2 decreed their destinies, and provided them with guidance. 3 Who brought forth the pasture, 4 Then made it dry and dark. 5 We shall now make you read (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), so you will not forget. 6 Except what Allah wills; indeed He knows all the evident and all the concealed. 7 We shall ease thee unto the Easing. 8 So render good counsel if good counsel will avail. 9 Admonished is he indeed who feareth, 10 but the reprobates will turn away 11 [He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire, 12 Wherein he shall neither die nor live, 13 He indeed shall be successful who purifies himself, 14 remember the name of the Lord, and pray to Him. 15 But ye prefer the life of this world, 16 Though the life to come is better and abiding. 17 This, indeed, was in the ancient Scrolls, 18 The Scriptures of Ibrahim (Abraham) and Musa (Moses). 19
