The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
