Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 excusing or warning, 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
