The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
