Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 storming tempestuously 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
