It is He who sends down to you out of heaven water of which you have to drink, and of which trees, for you to pasture your herds, 10 And with it He grows for you corn, and the olive and the date-palm and the grape, and all kinds of fruits. Surely, in that is a sign for a people who reflect. 11 He has subjected for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon and the stars have also been made subservient by His command. Surely there are Signs in this for those who use their reason. 12 On the earth He has fashioned for you objects of various hues: there is certainly a sign in that for people who pay heed. 13 And He it is Who has made the sea subservient that you may eat fresh flesh from it and bring forth from it ornaments which you wear, and you see the ships cleaving through it, and that you might seek of His bounty and that you may give thanks. 14 And He has placed firm mountains on the earth lest it should move away from you, and has made rivers and tracks that you may find your way, 15 And landmarks; and they are guided by the star. 16 So, could one who creates be like one who cannot? Will you not then contemplate? 17 If ye would count up the favours of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 And God knows what you keep secret and what you publish. 19 And those they call upon, apart from God, created nothing, and themselves are created, 20 They are dead, not living; nor do they know when they will be raised to life. 21
