۞ We gave Abraham aforetime his rectitude -- for We knew him -- 51 When he said to his father and his people, “What are these idols before whom you squat (worshipping)?” 52 They replied, "We found our fathers worshipping them." 53 He said, "Both you and your fathers have certainly been in error." 54 They said: "Have you brought us the truth, or are you one of those who play about?" 55 He said, 'Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who originated them, and I am one of those that bear witness thereunto. 56 And, by God, I shall assuredly outwit your idols, after you have gone away turning your backs.' 57 So he made them into fragments, except a large one among them, that they might return to it [and question]. 58 They said, “Who has done this to our Gods? He is indeed cruel!” 59 They said: We heard a youth make mention of them, who is called Abraham. 60 They said: Then bring him (hither) before the people's eyes that they may testify. 61 They said, "Abraham, was it you who did this to our deities?" 62 He said: "Nay, this was done by - this is their biggest one! ask them, if they can speak intelligently!" 63 Thereupon they turned to their (inner) selves and said (to themselves): "Surely it is you who are the wrong-doers." 64 Then they were utterly put to confusion saying, 'Very well indeed thou knowest these do not speak.' 65 He said, "Do you, instead of God, worship things that can neither harm nor benefit you?" 66 Fie on you and all that ye worship instead of Allah! Have ye then no sense? 67 They said, "Burn him and support your gods - if you are to act." 68 We said: "O fire, become coolness and safety for Abraham." 69 They had devised an evil plan (against Abraham), but We turned it into failure." 70 And We rescued him and Lut towards the land which We have blessed for the entire world. 71 And We gave him Isaac and Jacob in superfluity, and every one made We righteous 72 and appointed them to be leaders guiding by Our command, and We revealed to them the doing of good deeds, and to perform the prayer, and to pay the alms, and Us they served. 73 And Lut! We vouchsafed unto him judgment and knowledge, and We delivered him out of the city which had been working foul deeds; verily they were a people evil, wicked. 74 And We caused him to enter into Our mercy; verily he was of the righteous. 75

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
