The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 who give charity, 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
