The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 it is no merriment. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
