Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ So I swear by Mawaqi (setting or the mansions, etc.) of the stars (they traverse). 75 and that is a mighty oath, if you but knew 76 That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable, 77 Kept in a secure Book. 78 which none but the pure may touch; 79 a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 80 Would you say that this statement is a lie? 81 and your portion in it is simply that you denounce it as false? 82 Why, then, when the soul leaps up to the throat, 83 And you wait for the moment (of death), 84 and while We are closer to him than you, although you see [Us] not: 85 Then why is it not-- if you are not held under authority-- 86 Bring it back, if you should be truthful? 87 Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah, 88 there shall be calmness and ease, a Garden of Delight. 89 and if he be a Companion of the Right: 90 Then peace to you from those on the right hand. 91 And if he is one of those who give the lie (to this Message) and go astray, 92 a welcome of burning despair [awaits him in the life to come,] 93 And burning in Hell-fire. 94 Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly. 95 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 96
True are the words of God the Almighty.
