We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When the two receiving angels receive from him, one seated on the right and one on the left. 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth: this is that which thou hast been shunning. 19 And the Trumpet was blown; “This is the Day of the promised punishment.” 20 And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 [It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp." 22 And his accompanying angel said, “This is the record of your deeds, available with me.” 23 [Allah will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever, 24 "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ His companion said: “I did not incite him to rebel; he was far gone into error of his own accord.” 27 He will say, “Do not dispute before Me – I had already warned you of the punishment.” 28 My Word is not changed; and never do I inflict the least wrong upon My servants.” 29
