The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
