The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the forenoon (after sun-rise); 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. 4 And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 And He found thee destitute, so He enriched thee. 8 Wherefore as to the orphan, be thou not unto him overbearing. 9 And repulse not the beggar; 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11
