Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
