Thamud denied the warning 23 They said, "Should we follow only one person among us. We shall be clearly in error and in trouble (if we do so). 24 Has the Reminder been cast upon him alone among us? Nay, rather he is an impudent liar.' 25 Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! 26 Verily We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience. 27 And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: Each one's right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns). 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 30 Then We sent against them one Shout and they became like the trampled twigs of the (sheep) penbuilder. 31 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 32 The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 33 Lo! We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night, 34 As a reward from Us; this is how We reward one who gives thanks. 35 And indeed he had warned them of Our seizure – in response they doubted the warnings. 36 They even solicited of him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes: 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 37 And indeed, the everlasting punishment overcame them early in the morning. 38 So taste My punishment and warning. 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40
