The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 While eyes are downcast 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
