The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
