In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
