The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars, 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! 22

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
