Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 Warn the men. 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 except those of the right hand 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 About the criminals, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
