The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
