The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
