Will you not understand? What, is he to whom We have promised a fair promise, and he receives it, like him to whom We have given the enjoyment of the present life, then he on the Resurrection Day shall be of those that are arraigned? 61 Upon the day when He shall call to them, and He shall say, 'Where now are My associates whom you were asserting?' 62 And those on whom sentence has been passed, will say, "Our Lord, these are the ones who led us astray. We led them astray as we ourselves were led astray. We now dissociate ourselves from them before You; it was not us that they worshipped." 63 They will be told to call their idols. They will call them but will receive no answer. They will see the torment approaching and wish that they had sought guidance. 64 And on the Day whereon He shall call unto them and say: what answer gave ye to the sent ones? 65 Bedimmed unto them shall be all excuses on that Day, wherefore they shall not be able to ask one of another. 66 But as to him who repents and believes and does good, maybe he will be among the successful: 67 And your Lord creates and chooses whom He pleases; to choose is not theirs; glory be to Allah, and exalted be He above what they associate (with Him). 68 And thy Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they publish. 69 And He is Allah; there is no god except He. The Praise is His in the former as in the latter. His is the Judgement, to Him you shall be returned. 70 Say: Have ye thought, if Allah made night everlasting for you till the Day of Resurrection, who is a god beside Allah who could bring you light? Will ye not then hear? 71 Say, "Tell me, if God were to extend perpetual day over you till the Day of Judgement -- is there any deity other than God that could bring you night, in which to rest? Will you not then see?" 72 It is out of His Mercy that He has put for you night and day, that you may rest therein (i.e. during the night) and that you may seek of His Bounty (i.e. during the day), and in order that you may be grateful. 73 Upon the day when He shall call. to them, and He shall say, 'Where now are My associates whom you were asserting?' 74 And We shall take out from every nation a witness and We shall say: Bring your proof. Then they will know that Allah hath the Truth, and all that they invented will have failed them. 75
