۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a torment for the unjust? 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
